As First Call had been recommended we thought we would 'give them a go' A very pleasant engineer called to service our boiler and promptly found a fault which required the system to be shut down. James called next day to quote for a Worcester Bosch boiler - which we duly accepted. Unfortunately there was a delay before the work could be carried out so "back to the dark ages" kettle for hot water and borrowed electric fires. Heaven, Ian arrived on the given day, he worked efficiently and kept us informed as to what was happening and when, leaving us clean and tidy at the end of each day. 2 days later hot water and heating! This was our first experience of First Call's work force and we found them all to be extremely helpful and efficient

Today was the third time I'd used first call, but I'm afraid this time round the experience wasn't good.
1) The engineer didn't know why he was called out.
2) Wasn't friendly on the phone (as I was at work I had to explain what I've booked and the reason for the call).
3) He left with by boiler switched off leaving my house without hot water and heating when I got home from work.
4) My fireplace is now disconnected and not usable. I would've liked the option of keeping it on, at my risk.

Dear Mr Khan, thanks for you comments. Firstly as you point out you have used us previously and had asked us to check the fire, when tested we found the chimney blocked and the fumes from the fire where entering he room. As gas fire kill around 50 people a year (of which I didn't want you Mum to be one), we rightly I dentified the risk and turn the appliance off from the gas supply. You Mum was informed and all the correct paperwork issed and signed for. When I spoke to you later that day I refused you request to come back and turn the fire on because you only use it for 10 minutes at a time. I advised you to have the chimney swept and we would happly come back and turn the fire back on when it is safe to use. As you safety is our responsibity I stand by my engineers work and I don't feel bad about doing that. James

After a 10 minute phone call, my central heating boiler problem was solved, bu a simple adjustment by myself. The engineer called at the house to check all was OK, which it was. Offered to pay call out charge, and a consultancy fee which was refused. Excellent service and advise. I will recommend First Call Heating to my family and associates. Many many thanks.

We had been looking to replace our boiler for over a year and had made enquiries to several different tradesmen and companies.However when James arrived to discuss what we needed it was a breath of fresh air. He explained everything and did not try and sell us things we didn't need. We also visited the showroom which was helpful to see the different boilers and products on display. Jez arrived as arranged and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble to explain and he was happy to discuss all aspects of the installation as it was going on. Finding good tradesmen is always a problem. We discovered James and his team though "Checkatrade. The quote was detailed and competitive. I felt confident that James knew exactly what he was talking about. His company provide a first class service from start to finish with polite, friendly, and efficient staff. As an authorised Worcester Bosch agent there was also the added bonus of a 5 year warranty. One gripe however, is that the engineer took a slightly circuitous route with the flue instead of straight up and out. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend the company.

I highly recommend Firstcall Heating. I chose them to upgrade my boiler, fit TRV's and a Magnaclean plus remove & fit a radiator. My decision was based on their competitive quote, 5 year warranty as a W/Bosch authorised agent, clear knowledge from James of what needed to be done and how, and their Customer feedback on checkatrade and this website.
This proved to be a great decision! Gez and Callum did a great job of the installation. Their work was efficient and to a very high standard. They were extremely courteous and tidy and everything has been working fine since.

Fantastic in every respect!! Having had several quotes for a full central heating installtion we had James round to quote. He was by far the most professional and knowledgeable company that we saw. Knowing that we were on a tight budget he found us a system to meet our requirements.
Having negotited a very respectable price, his team came round the week after to do the installation. Bearing in mind that we knew the floor boards would be coming up to route the piping, and the job would take four days, I was amazed when I came home from work to find absolutely no sign of any floor boards half up, and they had even hoovered the floor!!
When the job was complete, the house was imaculate - infact it was even tidier than before they started. The system works fantastic and I could not recommend this company enough. They are proffessional, competetivley priced and trustworthy.
